Ethimologically speaking, the Latin term “porphyra = purple rock”, is a rock produced from the solidification of volcanic magma which was formed approximately 250 million years ago. Their colours ranging from red to maroon, from lilac to violet and the contrast of tuff rocks with the light colour thereof, cause our quarry to be a unique and exclusive place in the world for this type of materials.
